Deakin University Art GalleryHannah Quinlivan: Travelling Light Opening night included two special performances of Transition, a new work by Hannah Quinlivan, in collaboration with vocalists Louise Keast and Shikara Ringdahl and contemporary dancer Rachael Hilton.About the exhibition: Drawing moves between materials like steel, the body and voice in the work of artist Hannah Quinlivan. Working in collaboration with artists, classically trained vocalists and dancers, Travelling Light explores the notion of adaptation in a time of constant motion. The question of movement seems to haunt our times. Some move freely while others are forced to stand still – creating new types of tension. This exhibition, based on a series of dance, movement, sound and sculptural urban interventions developed in Berlin, will culminate at the Deakin University Gallery at the Melbourne Burwood Campus. Video artist Adam Lynch will be present to document this event and photographs taken on the evening will appear in publications and/or on social media. Please speak to the Gallery Manager on the evening if you do not wish to be photographed and included.
