“Lost Love Letters” series.
'Longing' is borne loosely out of the story Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte this image tells of separated loves and lives, the hope for messages received from someone afar. The image evokes a sense of melancholy, longing and nostalgia through letters sent from loved ones hoping to hear a word of them. Each tells a story of distance and separation of romances once alive or fears for someone’s safety, of hearts that yearn for each other. Some letters may reach their destination and some may fall away but the anticipation of opening the envelope to hear their stories remains as powerful as it ever has, a testimony to the need for human connection.
