Located in the heart of Melbourne’s vibrant Flinders Lane cultural precinct, Flinders Lane Gallery has been exhibiting the work of collectable and exceptional Australian artists since 1989. Director Claire Harris is committed to promoting the work of Australian artists and ensures that the gallery’s exhibition program provides opportunities to both emerging and established artists’ practices. Informed by her seventeen years of experience working in the arts, she brings a fresh perspective to the Flinders Lane Gallery stable. She has ensured that the artists currently represented reflect the shifting interests and concerns of contemporary practice.

A select group of Aboriginal artists have also been represented since the gallery’s inception, with a Directorial focus on the quality, diversity, and vitality of this important art movement. Through exhibiting Aboriginal artworks with relevant background information and stories to support the artworks, the gallery encourages respect and understanding for complex spiritual and cultural traditions. Flinders Lane Gallery represents some of the most renowned names from this extraordinary art movement. Flinders Lane Gallery is a member of Art Trade and a voluntary signatory to the Indigenous Art Code, and is proud to have longstanding relationships with the communities represented.
